Aid to Ukrainian refugees

President Volodymyr Zelensky

Our Grand Master, Count Dobrzenský z Dobrzenicz, has called for the Order to support those fleeing from Ukraine in fear of their lives. To do this he has committed the Order to give 10,000 euros to a special fund co-ordinated in the four Visegrád countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia) which are close to the Ukranian border; in all of which the Order has a strong presence.

Our Grand Prior in Great Britain, Chev. Anthony Dickinson, is keen for our Priory to support this initiative and, with the support of his Council,  is committing to giving £2,000  to this fund.

In the parish of the Chaplain General, Fr Simon Henry, an appeal was made yesterday which will be re-issued this coming Sunday, which has already raised £810. Another £100 has also been given by members. Thank you to all those who have contributed.

Any members - or indeed anyone else - can contribute by contacting the Grand Prior, the Treasurer, the Hospitaller or the Chaplain General.

We unite ourselves in prayer with the brave people of Ukraine that their valor may bring them victory.

Holy Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
