Charity Dinner with the Army Benevolent Fund

Grand Prior of  Great Britain, H E Anthony Dickinson with Dame Margaret Lawler.

They were among a number of members who attended a charity dinner run by the Centurions of Merseyside for the Army Benevolent Fund which took place on Friday in the Athenaeum Club, founded in 1799, in Liverpool city centre.

The Grand Priory has supported our veteran service men and women through the Centurions and their work for the Army Benevolent Fund.

Dame Lorna Muirhead DCVO DBE DL is the President of the Centurions and is pictured here with her husband  (right) and Major General Michael Scott CB CBE DSO.

Major General Michael Scott gave an excellent after dinner speech. He was Military Secretary to the British Army and also took part in the Falklands War; it was with his reminiscences of this that he both entertained and moved us.

Dame Lorna shares a Quaich with the piper!
We was certainly in need of some refreshment after his exertions.

Also present were some Army Cadets from Altcar Camp,
who welcomed the guests and formed a guard of honour.
